The Board Of Directors of Urban Harvest STL is pleased to announce the appointment of Clare Higgins Siegel as Executive Director and Jamie Wallace as the organization’s Director of Operations.

“The Board thanks Mary Ostafi for all of her hard work building a firm foundation for the organization to move forward,” said Rob Millner, Chairman of the Board. “We’re excited to have Clare and Jamie leading Urban Harvest STL into our next chapter of building health, connection and capacity through urban agriculture, education, and community development.”

Clare became an advocate for Urban Harvest STL in 2013, securing financial support that accelerated the FOOD ROOF Farm’s completion while working for U.S. Bank. She has since served as Secretary on the Board of Directors and currently works as the Development Manager on staff. Jamie illustrated her strong leadership and diverse talents while serving first as a volunteer for the organization and then holding a position on the Board of Directors. She is a driven manager with a history of success in the nonprofit sector, most recently as Communications Manager for Voices for Children. Urban Harvest STL’s illustrious founder and departing Executive Director, Mary Ostafi, is relocating to San Francisco with her husband. Her last day coincides with Urban Harvest STL’s annual fundraiser, Raise the ROOF, on September 29th.

“Urban Harvest STL started with a vision to grow food where we live and create a more equitable food system in our great city,” said Mary. “I am overwhelmed with love and joy for the community we’ve created around healthy food access, education, and sustainable urban agriculture. I am incredibly grateful for everyone who supported this vision throughout the years and contributed to our impact in the community. I leave with full confidence that Urban Harvest STL will continue to thrive well into the future under the leadership of Clare and Jamie.”

As this season of new leadership begins, we look forward to the future with the promise of growth on the horizon.
