The Caramel Room at announces its third annual Bissinger’s, Bourbon + BBQ event hosted at The Caramel Room at Bissinger’s on Sunday, August 26, 2018. The event will run from 1:00pm-4:00pm, with V.I.P. tickets allowing an additional 30 minutes before entrance for a private tasting seminar with Dan Gardener of Four Roses Distillery of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. Guests will receive a commemorative tasting glass to start the journey through the sampling room with more than 65 bourbons to taste including Bissinger’s Handcrafted Chocolatier and 23 City Blocks Catering Private Selection Four Roses Barrel from the elusive RS warehouse. Bourbon isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, so the premium level open bar is sure to have something to appease the pallet including beer, wine and various other liquors.

BBQ-style culinary creations from Executive Chef Nicholas Miller will be available, including a whole local hog from Root + Holler, a family-owned business in Cape Girardeau, MO. Spit roasted on the roof-top terrace temps your taste buds at every rotation. While outside, guests can settle in to enjoy the musical stylings of The Root Diggers as well as Stephen Paul from Nashville, Tennessee or grab a hand-rolled cigar from Marc Gwynne CigarCompany to pair with specialty fashioned bourbon and chocolate cocktails.

In collaboration with four different distilleries, Chief Chocolatier Dave Owens has carefully paired one of Bissinger’s Handcrafted Chocolatier’s truffles, caramels, crèmes with a bourbon sampling to challenge yet complement every unique note and flavor in each individual profile.

Unique to this year’s event is the debut of The Chocolate Pig, a new concept restaurant opening late fall in St. Louis’ Cortex District inside Venture Café’s Innovation Hall. While not a “BBQ-joint” per se, threaded throughout the menu will be a nod to nose-to-tail cooking techniques and a menu chocolate threaded throughout. The event is the perfect opportunity for executive chef Patrick Russell to cultivate new menu ideas.

General Admission Price is $85 per ticket, while a V.I.P. Admission is $135 per ticket, which includes a signed bottle of Bissinger’s and 23 City Blocks Catering Private Selection Four Roses Single Barrel Bourbon OBSV RS 54-6 I to take home and enjoy as well as the private tasting seminar.
