The 51st annual Country Music Association (CMA) Broadcast Award winners have been notified, and New Country 92.3 WIL received the 2017 “Station of the Year” Award in the Major Market category.

New Country 92.3 was notified of the 2017 win early this morning on the “Bud and Broadway” Morning Show, with a telephone call in-studio from New Country megastar Keith Urban. This is the first Country Music Association “Station of the Year” win for Hubbard Radio’s St. Louis New Country radio station.

Upon receiving the news, New Country 92.3 WIL Program Director Scott Roddy commented, “I am humbled beyond words. Thank you CMA! The New Country 92.3 WIL “Home Team” worked VERY hard to earn this recognition. I am honored to be surrounded by a cast that consistently trades acceptable for excellent. I have honestly never worked with a team so dedicated to their local community, each other and the health of our industry. This honor affirms that Hubbard Broadcasting is the platinum standard for live, local brands.”

The CMA Awards nominees and winners are determined by the more than 6,300 industry professional members of CMA, which when established in 1958 became the first trade organization formed to promote an individual genre of music.

Hubbard St. Louis’s Vice President and Market Manager John Kijowski comments, “Hubbard Radio couldn’t be prouder of this honor for the entire New Country 92.3 team. The 2017 Major Market “Station of the Year” Award from the Country Music Association is such an important affirmation of the station’s popularity within the St. Louis community, as well as the radio industry’s recognition of our team’s broadcasting excellence.”

Kijowski adds, “WIL has a rich history on the St. Louis airwaves, and this award just confirms the lasting impact that New Country 92.3 has had on St. Louis listeners.”
