Local music duo Blind Robots will release their debut single Unbreakable on Friday, June 8th with pre-orders beginning on Monday, May 28th. Blind Robots is made up of former Blinded Black lead singer Jeff Nizick and the band’s bassist Tyler Hanks.
“Unbreakable came at a time when my marriage was falling apart. We were separated and I was trying to make it work. In the end I couldn’t save my marriage and the song took on a new meaning. It became more of a song about being emotionally strong and independent after such a sad loss,” Nizick explained.
It is that strength and spirit of independence that Nizick hopes to pass along to his son, Rowan, who was born with Cerebral Palsy. Blind Robots will be donating proceeds from Unbreakable to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation.
“I no longer look at this as a way to making a living. I really just want to be a role model to my son,” Nizick explained of his decision to return to the studio and begin recording for the project.
“We have been wanting to do it for awhile now, we always loved acoustic and alternative music and this project has given us the freedom to not only do that, but be less dependent on other people’s input,” Hanks added.
Blinded Black fans are already anticipating the release of the former band member’s material. A teaser video for the Unbreakable music video has generated over 10,000 views on YouTube. Unbreakable will be available on iTunes, Amazon Music, Google Play and more.
