On March 5, the Central West End is bringing the sounds of New Orleans to the neighborhood for its first-ever Fat Tuesday Celebration!

At 3:30 p.m., three local high school bands will be taking over the CWE, performing live at various street corners throughout the neighborhood. Saint Boogie Brass Band will be leading a Second Line Parade, starting at the corner of Euclid and Washington and ending at 1764 Public House. Second Line is a New Orleans tradition, in which participants follow the main parade — and the band — just to enjoy the music. Attendees are invited to join in the fun, at any point during the parade.

“St. Louis is known for its strong Mardi Gras traditions and we are excited to be partnering with three local high schools to bring festivities to the neighborhood on Fat Tuesday,” says Kate Haher, Executive Director of the CWE Business Community Improvement District. “Everyone is invited to boogie through the neighborhood during the parade.”
