The Down Syndrome Association of Greater St. Louis (DSAGSL) will host the 2018 Step Up for Down Syndrome (SUDS) walk on June 3 to celebrate the amazing lives of people with Down syndrome. Step Up for Down Syndrome is the DSAGSL’s largest fundraising and awareness event of the year and will bring over 2,000 people together to support the Down syndrome community. Generous sponsors of this year’s event include, but are not limited to, Lathrop & Gage, LLP, Great Southern Bank, Hager Companies, St. Louis Children’s Hospital, Mercy Kids, and Lusso. The event is expected to welcome 150 teams and raise over $200,000 for the Association. The Association welcomes new corporate and community sponsors as well as new teams to join in the celebration.
The DSAGSL is the only area agency that benefits the lives of individuals with Down syndrome of all ages through individual and family support, education, public awareness and advocacy. There are more than 1,800 children and adults with Down syndrome in Greater St. Louis. Proceeds of the Step Up event go to supporting programming such as new family support, therapy, recreational camps, skill building workshops, conferences, and an inclusive employment initiative. The community is welcome to take part in this very special event which includes activities for all ages and a one-mile awareness walk.

The event is Sunday, June 3 in Forest Park and will start at the Upper Muny Parking lot. There will be food, games, and fun including a rock wall, a petting zoo, bounce castles, crafts, carnival games, and more.
