On June 8, the Central West End will once again celebrate what many have claimed as the first cocktail party on record: the 1917 soirée hosted by Mrs. Julius S. Walsh Jr. in her home at 4510 Lindell Boulevard.

The occasion will be marked by the fourth annual Central West End Cocktail Party, an event that drew thousands of people to the streets of the CWE last June for a fun-filled evening of music, dancing, and celebration. Photos from 2018’s cocktail party are available here.

Guests can enjoy live entertainment, a spirited cocktail competition featuring some of St. Louis’ top bartenders, and, of course, delicious food and drinks available for purchase from participating CWE bars and restaurants.

“This can’t-miss event in the CWE pays tribute to our neighborhood’s history, while also introducing visitors to some of our most popular establishments,” says Kate Haher, executive director of the CWE Business Community Improvement District. “With food and drinks from spots like Gamlin Whiskey House, Drunken Fish, and Bar Italia, guests can sample and sip the night away under the stars.”

The event will feature music by Disco Nites, Jesse Gannon + The Truth, and The Service, as well as aerial performances, fire dancers, unicyclists, photo booths, and more.

This event is free and open to the public. For more information, visit www.cwecocktailparty.com.
