A car show in August will benefit two St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD) officers who were injured in a patrol car accident in March. The benefit car show on August 19 will be held at St. Louis Forest Park, on The Muny upper parking lot, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. All proceeds will benefit the officers who were injured March 17 in a vehicle accident involving their patrol car.

Officer Smith has returned to work part-time while she recovers from her injury. Officer Gary Glasby is in rehabilitation at Craig Hospital in Denver, Colorado. In June, the Ethical Society of Police arranged for Officer Sheena Smith to fly to Denver to visit Officer Glasby and support him in his recovery.

Food and beverages will be available at the car show, and 100 percent of all proceeds will benefit the officers and their families. Registration is $20 to show a car and $10 to display a car. Registration is from 8 a.m. until noon, rain or shine. Top 50 Awards will be presented at 3 p.m. and will include dash plaques for the first 100 cars. For more information, call (314) 444-2531. M
