St. Louis Area Foodbank announced their Hunger Is No Joke – A Night of Comedy with Aparna Nancherla today. The event will take place at The Pageant on Saturday, August 4, 2018 with doors at 7:00 pm and an 8:00 pm showtime.
All proceeds from “Hunger Is No Joke” beneft the St. Louis Area Foodbank and its mission to feed hungry people by distributng food throughout the bi-state region and engage the community in the fight against hunger. Reserve tickets are $30 and the show is all ages.
This is the sixth year for the event. Previous headliners include: Mike Birbiglia, John Mulaney, The Sklar Brothers, Colin Jost, and Maria Bamford. Last year’s event helped provide more than 25,000 meals for local families.

Aparna Nancherla is a series regular in the debut season of Comedy Central’s Corporate and has reprised her role in season 2 of HBO’s CRASHING. Aparna is also featured in the second season of Netlix’s The Standups. Other television credits include Netlix’s Master of None and LOVE, Comedy Central’s Inside Amy Schumer, and Hulu’s I Love You, America with Sarah Silverman. In 2018 she makes her feature debut in the Paul Feig movie A Simple Favor. In 2013, she made her late night stand up debut on TBS’s Conan and was one of the breakout New Faces at the prestgious Just For Laughs Festval in Montreal. Her TV writng credits include Late Night with Seth Meyers as well as being a regular correspondent/writer on FX’s Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell. She can regularly be seen performing at the Upright Citzen’s Brigade’s in LA and NYC. Her debut album Just Putng It Out There was released in July 2016 by Tig Notaro’s label Bentzen Ball Records and hit the #4 on Billboard Comedy Charts.
The St. Louis Area Foodbank began its service to the community in 1975. Since that tme, the organizaton has grown to become the bi-state region’s largest charity dedicated to feeding those in need. Through a network of more than 500 partner agencies in 26 countes in Missouri and Illinois, the Foodbank distributes over 43 million pounds of food and personal care items annually.
